IMPORTANT NOTICE
CONSTRUCTION AT FREMONT ACADEMY SCHOOL BEGINS
FEBRUARY 20.
FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY, PLEASE USE CAUTION IN THE AREA.
Dear OSD Community,
We are excited to share that construction is officially beginning on the reconstruction of Fremont Academy School, marking an important milestone in our commitment to modern, student-centered learning environments.
Following extensive planning, design, and preconstruction work, made possible through local community support and Measure I bond funding, crews will begin initial construction activities in the coming weeks. The existing Fremont Academy campus will remain operational throughout construction, ensuring continuity for students and staff.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Groundbreaking & Site Preparation (February–Spring 2026):
Construction activity will begin on the open space portion of the campus along H Street. You may notice increased weekday truck traffic during standard construction hours. Crews will follow safety and air-quality protocols to minimize impacts. - Construction of New School Facilities (2026–2028):
The project includes new multi-story classroom buildings, a library, teaching support and administrative spaces, a gym/multipurpose facility, lunch shelter, restrooms, and improved pick-up/drop-off areas accessed from H Street. - Learning Environment Design:
Classrooms are being designed to support 21st-century learning with flexible furniture, modern technology, multiple display surfaces, and dedicated areas to showcase student work. - Project Completion (2028–29 School Year):
Construction is scheduled for completion in time for the 2028–29 school year, after which the existing facilities will be replaced with improved open and recreational space for school and community use.
We will continue to share updates through our website, social media, and ParentSquare as the project progresses. Thank you for your patience and partnership as we work together to create a safe and modern learning environment for Fremont Academy students and the broader community.
Sincerely,
Dr. Anabolena DeGenna
Superintendent
